Can Righteousness Make a Difference? (Part 8)

What will righteousness do for me?

Right now, I am already just as righteous as Jesus is, as He is sitting on the right hand of God. Many people will get offended at this statement of mine, but that’s because they do not enjoy a relationship with the Father the way I do, and believe me if you want to have a relationship with God, you need to be able to come before Him with boldness [Hebrews 10:19] (not arrogance but with the confidence of Jesus’ finished work) and approach Him just like a child would approach his father. Then only you will get to know Him and experience His unconditional love for you and have the most beautiful relationship anyone can have. Without this understanding it is not possible to be in an intimate relationship with God (Please read my article ‘An intimate relationship with God’).

Is Faith Enough? (Part 7)

Can it really be true that God intended me to have Jesus’ righteousness, even if I have been a sinner all my life and haven’t done one good act that could please God? Well God looks not on the external but on the internal. I mean he sees not our acts but our heart and spirit. All that we require is to have faith in what He has done for us. To understand this better we will look at the life of Abraham who is called the father of faith.

Understanding Righteousness (Part 5)

How to get rest?

So how does Jesus give us this rest? Remember that Jesus did not die on the cross to emotionally blackmail us. [Galatians 2:21] (RSV) says “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness comes by the law, then Christ is dead in vain”.

Are You Righteous? (Part 3)

What is righteousness?

So let’s look at what we understand by the term righteousness. The bible says that we have a righteous Lord who loves righteousness [Psalms 11:7] and that He shall judge the world in righteousness [Psalms 9:8].

  • ‘Righteousness’ means to conform to God’s standards or in other words to have a ‘right standing’ with God, because as He is righteous we ought to be righteous to be in front of Him as if there was no sin to separate us from God.

Do You Want To Be A Part Of The Kingdom (Part 6)

Jesus gave us clear indication that while we have the opportunity, let us make the best of it and turn to the Lord and be ready for His return, once He returns and no one knows the day or hour when that will happen, it will be too late to make a start. At that instant the good will be separated from the bad, the sheep from the goats [Matthew 25:32-33], who are the good and bad, sheep and goats? As I mentioned earlier, those who have heeded the voice of God and received a new birth in the spirit are the ones who will enter the kingdom of God. God will only look at the spirit and not the flesh, for God promised the Holy Spirit as our seal [Ephesians 1:13] until the day of redemption [Ephesians 4:30], and when He sees this seal in us, He will take us into His kingdom. At that moment, not everyone who says “Lord, Lord” shall enter into the kingdom [Matthew 7:21]. But in fact, like the good seed that grew into the wheat crop and was collected into the barn and the good fish into vessels while the bad seed or tares that were collected and burned in fire and bad fish that were thrown away [Matthew 13:24-30,47-48], so it will be with the judgement of mankind. Yes, those who have accepted Jesus have escaped judgement, but those who reject Jesus have already brought judgement upon themselves [John 12:48].

A New Creation (Part 6)

New Life

The death and resurrection of Jesus has resulted in new life for us. This newness of life is the gift of God, in which we are called to walk [Romans 6:4].

  • If anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW CREATION, old things have passed away, behold all things have become NEW [2 Corinthians 5:17].
