In Christ, God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3). Do you recognize the awesomeness of this statement? Read further.
We who were once cut off (separated) from God are now joined back to Him, because He has made us His adopted sons (Ephesians 1:5) (this includes men and women, because in the spirit we have no gender differences), and we are now the beloved of God, whom He is greatly pleased with. Man or woman, when you are in Christ, you are in the Son of God, which makes you a Son. This is not just a positional truth, but it is a complete spiritual truth which has been deposited and placed within us. This means that as we exercise this truth we yield it’s results.
Through the blood of Jesus we have our redemption secure, the deposit of our salvation has been given to us when God gave us His Spirit and now our inheritance is a “guarantee” (Ephesians 1:13-14). Have you purchased a property? You would have deposited earnest money with the seller, so that the property will no longer be available to anyone else. Once the balance payment is made the property is legally yours. Similarly the same word “earnest” or “guarantee” is the word used in the verse above for our inheritance when we receive Christ. That inheritance is ours and when our life on earth comes to an end the remainder i.e. our body and soul will also receive its salvation. There cannot be a person whose spirit has received salvation but his body and/or soul has not received salvation because your body and/or soul cannot be in hell while your spirit is in heaven.
Verse 18 of Ephesians Chapter 1 says :
the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints
Have you noticed that His inheritance is ‘in the saints‘ and not ‘with the saints‘?
God has placed all that we will ever need right inside of us, in our spirit. So our spirit being is complete with every possible healing, deliverance, prosperity… you name it. This means that we were made complete in Christ in whom dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Colossians 2:9-10).
If you are really able to wrap your mind around this, you would be dancing with joy. Oh yes in plain words what this means is that, through God’s Spirit He has made you exactly equal to Christ as it is written in (1 John 4:17) “because as He is, so are we in this world”. Yes, as He is so are we right now in this world not later at the second coming of Christ.
Therefore Hallelujah !!! rejoice, for we are seated together with Christ in the heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). Let us exercise this truth daily in our lives and see how beautiful this life is.
Now with this understanding look at this verse and see how well it makes sense (2 Peter 1:2-4) “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust”.
